„People with a new idea are called wacko until the idea succeeds."

(Mark Twain, American writer, 1835-1910)

Metamurban – a new name, my neologism to name my style, to make it concrete.
Metamurban – a combination of ‘metamorphosis’ and the English word ‘urban’.
Metamurban simultaneously stands for the transformation of my creative work deep within and for the urban, cultural manmade structure in which we all dwell. It stands for life, street art, comics, mainstream, progress, but also for the decay that we all are exposed to.

These sensations surge through me every day and become anchored in my subconscious. I am also influenced by the work of others on the art and tattoo scene. Whatever I observe – circumstances, occurences and events – form new connections in my mind and produce a different image, gain another meaning. But all these observations are finely sieved and some impressions resurface as a painting or a tattoo in our real world.

„I, too, am a membrane of collective currents,
but everything must pass through the filter of my subjectivity."

(Neo Rauch, German painter, born 1960)

On quite a few occasions, my work has also served as an inspiration for other tattoo artists. Time and time again, I find new variations of my work and I am happy that my ideas have served as a fertile soil for new works, even if not all of them do justice to my Metamurban concept.
